Last summer it was an amazing summer as we had the delayed men’s Euro 2020 and the England men’s team got all the way to the final and lost on penalties. And with no men’s tournament until November and December this year which is when the World Cup is, the summer of 2022 is the women’s time to shine as they have a home Euros from 6th-31st July 2022.
There are 4 groups of four teams competing at the Euros and they are:
The group stage runs from 6th July to 18th July.
The matches in England’s group are from Old Trafford in Manchester, St Mary’s Stadium Southampton and Falmer Stadium in Brighton.
Matches in Group B are played at MK Dons stadium and Brentford Community Stadium.
Matches in Group C are played at Bramall Lane in Sheffield and Leigh Sports Village In Leigh.
Matches in Group D are played in Academy Stadium Manchester and New York Stadium Rotherham
Bramall Lane hosts a total of 3 matches 2 in the group stage and 1 semi final and Rotherham hosts a total of three matches 2 in the group stage and 1 in the quarter finals.
The quarters will be 20-23 July, semis 26-27 July and the final at Wembley on 31st July.
I believe tickets have already been sold for the tournament, so fans would be lucky to get them on the day.
Can the Lionesses go one step further than the men did and win the Euros?
