Every so often, we may need a helpline if we’re getting in trouble or need help, for all sorts of reason: 

To save money 

To support our family or children  

Women  

Victims of crime  

Drink problem  

Different helplines 

The Samaritans – this is about if you want to harm yourself or worried about someone else. The number is 116 123 or you can email [email protected] 

Support Line – aimed at the isolated, at risk, vulnerable or victims of abuse. The number is 01708 765200. 

MIND – Mental health charity. The number is 0300 123 3393 or you can text 86482. 

Rethink – improve lives of people who are severely affected by mental illness. The number is 0300 5000 927 or email [email protected] 

NHS Direct– This is for non emergency matters and the number is 111  

Rape & Sexual Abuse Support Centrethis if for people who have been raped or sexually assaulted. The number is 0800 0288 022 and its open daily from 7am-9:30pm. 

No panic specialise in self-help recovery and skills they need to manage condition. The number is 0844 967 4848. 

OCD Action– provide support for anyone suffering with OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). The number is 0845 390 6232 or email [email protected] 

Alcoholics Anonymous This service is geared towards helping people stop their drinking habits. The number is 0800 9177 650.

Get connected – This service can help with mental health, dual diagnosis and addiction. The number is 0808 808 4994 or email [email protected] 

Childline– for help with bullying and all kinds of other things. The number is 0800 1111. 

Homestart– Homestart supports families with at least one child under the age of 5 years who may be dealing with issues such as: 

  • Isolation 
  • Illness 
  • Relationship problems 
  • Feeling tired and exhausted 
  • Coping with the demands of having twins or triplets 
  • Disability
