Who are the best footballers who live or are from the region of Yorkshire

EverythingSports

Did you know that there are quite a few members of the current England squad who were born in Yorkshire?  There are four in total and I will tell you who they are, how old they are, who they play for and strengths and weaknesses of each.

Kyle Walker was born in Sheffield, he is 31 years old, he plays left-back for England and Man City and before that he played for Tottenham and Sheffield United, he’s a good attacker but needs work defensively.  His strengths are:  passing and holding onto the ball, and he doesn’t dive into tackles which is good but a weakness is tackling

Harry Maguire was also born in Sheffield, he’s 28 and he plays as centre defence for England and Man United, but before he went to United he also played for Sheffield United and Hull City. He’s good in both boxes due to his height and strength.  His strengths are winning battles in the air, passing and intercepting balls, but a weakness is tackling , but again he doesn’t dive into tackles.

John Stones was born in Barnsley, he’s 27 and is a centre half for Man City and England, but he did play for Barnsley and Everton before Man City.  He is a much improved centre half now, but at the beginning of his Man City career he wasn’t as he kept making mistakes.  His strengths are he’s very good at passing and concentration, and again a weakness is tackling.

Kalvin Phillips was born and still lives in Leeds, he’s 25 and plays in a deep midfield role for England and Leeds.  He works his socks off every game and his role is to stop attacks and win the ball back. Kalvin Phillips has a lot of strengths and he’s very strong at:  through balls and taking set pieces, and he’s strong at passing, winning aerial battles, making key passes, tackling, concentration and blocking the ball.  He also likes playing long direct balls and likes to shoot from distance.

All four of these players played a part in England’s run to the Euro 2020 final as Walker, Stones and Phillips played most of the games except for a little period of a game for Phillips when he needed to avoid a booking,  Maguire played every game from the 3rd group game onwards.
