‘Rugby League is different, we’re all a family’: Rugby stars’ charity game
Stars of rugby league and celebrities will battle it out in an epic rugby league match.
Yorkshire’s All Stars team will take on Morley All Stars Team in a charity game at Featherstone Rovers in aid of All Stars Rugby which is run by the Life For a Kid charity. So far the charity has raised over £1 million for children who need medical care and specialist support.
Wayne Godwin aka ‘Waggataurus’ who is captain: “It can be hard mentally when you stop playing professionally but as soon as I was introduced to All Stars it gave me a sense of hope and purpose.
“And most of all they raise a lot of money for children in our communities who need it.”
Waggataurus alongside the teams of Rugby ‘veterans’ have come out of sporting retirement to stretch their legs and get back to what they do best, playing rugby and all for good causes. There will be other well known faces too including Rate My Takeaway Danny Malin.
