From Food dedicated festivals to Yorkshire events which showcase the best of food and drink the region has to offer.

Here are some of the events and festivals coming up over the summer:

Pontefract Liquorice Festival

Pontefract is the home of liquorice which is celebrated each year at the Pontefract Liquorice festival. From heritage talks to a liquorice trail and plenty of food stalls and family entertainment.

Pontefract liquorice festival runs from July 7th – 9th.

It’s on from 10am-4pm each day this weekend.Expect tasty treats to tempt the taste buds, quirky gifts and homeware that you just won’t find anywhere else. Explore the market whilst listening to live music from talented local musicians compared by stage partners Rhubarb Radio.

There will also be workshops and Activities taking place such as:

  • Craft workshop
  • Circus workshop
  • Outdoor creative play
  • Liquorice Heritage Talk

Also, street entertainment, live music, Pontefract Castle and loads more.

Great Yorkshire Show

This event runs from Tuesday 11th-Friday 14th July 2023

It celebrates food, agriculture, farming and countryside.

Cannon Hall Farm Food Festival

This festival runs from August 23rd-26th and showcases some of the finest food the region has to offer.

  • Malton food lovers festival in August 

This festival takes place from 27th-29th August and will attract thousands of people. Highlights include Tommy Banks showcasing his wine brand, David Atherton and his culinary skills, and lots more.

It is held next to St Michael’s Church, Malton

More than 100 market stalls and street food vans, live music, cookery workshops and a festival fringe.

A Festival map will show all festival locations including toilets. Disabled toilets, parking and other facilities are available. Extra buses and trains from York and Scarborough will be laid on over the weekend. Malton is on the award-winning Coastliner bus route. There is a designated festival Park & Ride car parks operating (£7.50) at each entrance to Malton from the A64, with a regular shuttle bus service to the entrance
