Writers, readers and literature lovers regularly join together at Literature Festivals and events.
There are a lot of literature festivals in Yorkshire such as:
Ilkley Literature festival – this is held over 17 days in October each year, in this miniature Victorian spa town at the foot of Ilkley Moor. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, Ilkley is only fifteen minutes from the Leeds-Bradford airport and a stone’s throw from Haworth, Harrogate, Leeds, and Bradford. The Festival is supported by Arts Council England and Bradford Metropolitan Council and is proud to have the University of Leeds Cultural Institute as our Higher Education Partner.

Crime writing festival 21st to 24th July 2022
Off the shelf festival – Off the Shelf has grown into one of the largest literary festivals in the UK, attracting some of the best-known names in literature and media to Sheffield each year.
York literature festival Friday 18th to Sunday 27th March 2022.
Leeds big bookend – March 2022
Leeds Big Bookend literature festival and the Northern Short Story competition.
Harrogate literature festival – 2022 will celebrate the 10th year since it started.
Books by the beach 2022 – 11th and 12th June 2022. This will take place in Scarborough.
Bradford Literature festival 24th June to 3rd July 2022. Producers of the Future: From Keighley to Karachi and Bradford inspired.
Todmorden Book Festival
Filey Literature Festival – A NON PROFIT MAKING community festival to celebrate the spoken word. Guests include Ian McMillan & Luke Carver Goss, The Yorkshire Shepherdess, and Frances Brody, along with local authors and poets. Main venue Evron Centre, Filey and Filey Library.
