5 WAYS TO CELEBRATE BONFIRE NIGHT AT HOME | Guy Fawkes

Days OutEverything

Us Yorkshire Families love to celebrate all events such as Bonfire Night or Guy Fawkes… and here’s how you can do it safely at home…

Five things to do at home this Bonfire Night:

1)      Make your own chocolate apples

2)      Apple Bobbing

3)      Fizzing fireworks dancing game – Dance around like fizzing fireworks while the music plays and make your own firework shapes when the music stops. When you shout:

Catherine Wheel – everyone must spin round and round with their arms stretched out.

Rocket – everyone must crouch down low and then jump up as high as they can.

Sparklers – everyone must put their hands up, stretch out their fingers and dance up and down and round and round.

Bangers – everyone must clap their hands and count 1, 2, 3 and shout ‘Bang’.

4)      Make pipe cleaner fireworks

5)      Make a rocket

This is a brilliant Blue Peter challenge. Using an old toilet roll, children can create their very own rocket, complete with a trailing tail. Paint the toilet roll tube bright colours, and create a cone head for the rocket. This can be a great link into shapes you might be studying in maths, as well as a fun crafting activity which can contribute towards Discover Part A or Explore Part A or C.
