Peddler Market: Yorkshire street food market pops up at new venue

Eat & Drink

One of Yorkshire’s most popular street food market has expanded.

Wakefield is geographically the heart of Yorkshire and it’s also synonymous with food, drink and rhubarb, so it was only a matter of time before one of the best street food markets landed in the district at the city’s new cultural epicentre.

Danny and Sophie Mei Lan Malin aka Mr and Mrs Yorkshire went to check it out.

Yes Peddler Market which normally resides in my birth city of Sheffield has started its other residence in my current home city of Wakefield at Tileyard North.

Tileyard North is a hub to create, stay and play featuring recording studios, content spaces, creative workspace, event venues and places to test out your skills.

And now the courtyard boasts a distillery bar and the Yorkshire brasserie. While these are thriving on a weekend,  Peddler market managed to fill up the entire courtyard with street food vans, tables to dine on and drinks vans.

Inside the main event space at the former Rutland Mills was stalls and live entertainment.

It’s hard to find somewhere family and dog friendly but this place sure is while still managing to be a perfect hangout for adults who love food, drink and music.

You can indulge in a culinary journey from a diverse range of traders with flavours from Italy, Thailand, and beyond…and each market there’ll be different stalls.

This time we indulged in:

Brúm Mì \ Good Boy Burger \ Lick Dairy Free Ice Cream \ Luigi Street Food Italiano \ That’s Mature \ Tikk’s Thai Kitchen \ Yuzu Street Food

Tileyard North’s onsite hospitality venues – The Yorkshire Brasserie and The Distillery Bar – will also be open during Peddler Market Wakefield.

Curated by Tileyard X – live music spanned the event, from DJs in the courtyard to live acts in the Carding Shed. Welcoming an array of local talent, Peddler Market Wakefield hosted

Eletto / Daisy Dorothy / Tom Masters / Warren Jones / Shayler Franklin / Jilly Riley Band / Jack Walton / Afro Baby / Marnie Glum / Charlie Padfield / Fredlin Morency / Adam Gow / George Riley / Dave Knowleson

In a creative destination like Tileyard North, Peddler Market Wakefield is the perfect chance to explore stallholders and makers showcasing their work…

Broken Bones Boutique / Claymore Candles / Forged Spirits / Holly Greenwood Designs / Retro Swag Store / UpsyDaisy Craft

Tileyard North, Wakefield, WF1 5FY.
