Just before the half hour, James shot from the edge of the box but was saved easily by Leno.

1st Arsenal goal
After 56 minutes, a scrappy goal as from an Arsenal corner, there were a couple of headers before Chambers headed powerfully, Meslier thought he’d saved it and eventually the goal line technology flashed on the ref’s watch and it said it went over the line, so Arsenal led and on the reply it was clearly over.
After 68 minutes, good play by Leeds and Harrison shot from outside the box was saved.

With twenty minutes to go, Arsenal scored a 2nd as a Cooper header back towards Meslier was nowhere near, Nketiah reacted and the ball went in the air and he went round Meslier and the ball just went over, could have been an embarrassing moment for Nketiah.
After 83 minutes, Greenwood’s straight went straight to Leno.
A minute before the end, Lacazette did well to work a shot for himself but he blasted over.
In the 4th minute of stoppage time, Harrison’s shot was blocked, then Gelhardt took his man on but shot wide.

A disappointing night in the end for Leeds as their League Cup campaign ended at the last 16 stage, but Arsenal deserved winners.
