National Videogame museum – The National Videogame Museum is the UK’s national cultural centre for videogames.

Whistlestop Valley – Located near Huddersfield, Barnsley and Wakefield it’s all aboard at Clayton West Station where you can enjoy a fun double loop on the ride-on-miniature train before jumping on the big train for a 25 minute journey through the Yorkshire countryside to Shelley Station (*Standard days only)


Swing, jump and slide through the day on the outdoor adventure playgrounds at both ends of the line and bounce to your heart’s content on their new undercover jumping pillow come rain or shine.
Stop to refuel in The Firebox Café at Clayton West Station or enjoy waffles, brownies, pancakes and scoops of ice cream with all the toppings at The Turntable dessert parlour at Shelley Station.
On selected term-time Mondays and Fridays, bring your mini-me along for the Young Engineers days: a scaled-down version of a standard day aimed exclusively at toddlers and pre-schoolers. These scaled down days include:
Return steam train ride to Cuckoo’s Nest only (total journey time of 20 minutes) – can travel unlimited times if availability allows
Unlimited platform rides on Tram No.7
Unlimited rides on the Clayton Flyer miniature railway

There are a host of special events throughout the year to keep your little ones entertained: from Dinosaur Ranger Adventures to The Wizard Express, from Halloween Ghost Trains to Mrs Claus’ Christmas Adventure, and not forgetting the sell-out Santa Specials in November/December.

Yorkshire Wildlife Park – If you like animals then this is the place to go as you can see 400 animals, 70 species of animals including Amur Leopards and Tigers, Painted Hunting Dogs, Black RHinos and Polar bears.

The innovative park offers amazing indoor and outdoor play areas, a full programme of ranger talks and feeding times and a variety of food outlets.
New for 2021, the brand new Yorkshire Hive offers a shopping, dining and entertainment experience like no other, including themed restaurant ‘Evolution’ and indoor play area ‘UpRoar’, alongside new retail outlets and a new gift shop and entrance gateway. Polar Bear 4 Dr Ywp

Lightwater Valley theme park – Enjoy an exciting expedition through the NEW Go Safari area! Step aboard the Savannah Express on a journey through the African wilderness. Leap for joy on Kangaroo Jump before flying high on Elephant Flight and the Monkey Drop rides. Then head over for a flight aboard the Hot Air Balloon ride.


Also new this year is Treetop Trails, formerly Treetops Nets. This much-loved attraction takes adventurers on a net walk through the tree canopy high above the park, and will now be included as part of the park’s admission price.
As well as new rides, come and enjoy Lightwater Valley’s young family favourites, including Little Dipper, Carousel, Skyrider, the Lady Bird rollercoaster, Splash Falls and many more.
Take a peaceful glide around the lake aboard a Swan Boat, and see the park from a whole other angle on the Lightwater Valley Express train.

Little Dipper rollercoaster at Lightwater Valley

The Deep- Hull
This is another one for animal lovers, although these ones are underwater. Visit The Deep, Hull’s award-winning aquarium and be taken on a journey through prehistoric seas, past tropical lagoons, into the vast open oceans, down to the darkest depths, through the chilly Kingdom of ice and into the future.
The Deep is home to spectacular animals including sharks and stingrays, the UK’s only pair of Green sawfish, hundreds of tropical reef fish, Loggerhead sea turtles a colony of Gentoo penguins, and much more to keep all ages entertained.
Take a walk through the viewing tunnel and ride in the glass lift through the 10 metre Endless Ocean tank.


Little nippers can enjoy the interactive magic floor, fossil brushing station and designing their own sea creature at Digi:Sea.
