The Rhubarb Festival
The Rhubarb Festival – Wakefield returns to paint the city pink from 25-27 February 2022.
The Rhubarb Festival ( #RhubarbFest ) is one of the first food and drink festivals in the national calendar – and in 2022 it promises to start things off with a bang!
With a whole new programme of chef demos curated by Yorkshire Food Guide and a gin experience showcasing mouth-watering cocktails, there will be something to everyone’s taste.
The Rhubarb Festival’s all-important food and drink market also returns with over 50 chalets where visitors can sample and purchase local and regional delights, while families will enjoy gardening, growing, and foraging workshops as well as lively street entertainment and music.
Venues including the Ridings Centre will be opening their doors to celebrate, the Ridings Centre will be hosting a:
– Vegan Fayre by Vegan Market Co
– Specialty Fayre
– Cooking Demonstrations with Karen Wright
– Antiques and Collectibles Fayre by Wakefield Antique & Collectables The Ridings Centre Wakefield
– Live Music
– Arts and Crafts
– Family Activities
– Face Painting by ARTIFACES Face painting & Body art and lots more.
Finally, visitors can extend their stay with the Rhubarb Trail around the city ( including 7 venues in the Ridings Centre), showcasing restaurants and bars that will put on rhubarb themed food and drink throughout the weekend.
With 50 Market stalls from a wide range of local and regional sellers as well as gardening, growing and foraging workshops, Special Guest Chef demos and a Rhubarb Food & Drink trail to showcase restaurants and bars throughout the city. There’s something for everyone to enjoy Â

The Antiques and Collectibles Fayre by the Wakefield Antique & Collectables The Ridings Centre Wakefield is the last Sunday of every month!
The Antiques & Collectibles Fayre now has over 30 exhibitors, all undercover and on one floor.
There is a great selection of jewellery, ceramics, furniture, fabulous home goods and so much more.
It’s an excellent hunting ground for interiors enthusiasts, vintage aficionados and the upcycler.
Pick up a quirky gift, or treat yourself to that perfect vintage piece.
There is live music at some events, the centre cafés are open providing a nice rest from all the browsing and undercover, safe parking is only 50p all day.

The Platinum Jubilee of Elizabeth II will be marked in 2022 in the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth in recognition of the 70th anniversary of the accession of Queen Elizabeth II on 6 February 1952.
