Featherstone Rovers v London Broncos Betfred Championship Round 4 Saturday 19th February 2022
This was a Saturday teatime clash between unbeaten Featherstone took on a London side who had yet to win, would the weather from Friday affect things underfoot? It had also been snowing and rainy on Saturday too, but could Rovers make it 4 from 4 , or would London get 1st win?
It was played at the Millennium Stadium
After a minute, the 1st Rovers attack was well worked but came to nothing.
Three minutes later, nice enterprising play by Rovers came to nothing, as they dropped the ball.
1st Rovers try – good Rovers play
Just after the quarter hour, more good Rovers play as they got ball wide and Pickersgill collected a inside pass by Hall to score under the sticks, Successful conversion by Hall.
1st London try – Parata bundled himself over
After 25 minutes, London got ball back, they dummied and scored under the sticks by Parata bundling over, Moceidreke successfully converted.
2nd Featherstone try – a try out of nowhere
Just before the half hour, a try out of nothing as Gale crashed over to the left of the sticks, despite London’s best efforts, successful conversion by Hall.
After 37 minutes, Rovers unlucky as kick to corner came to nothing.

2 good rovers tries and they were deservedly in front, could the momentum stay with them in the 2nd half?
3rd Rovers try – well worked try
15 minutes into the 2nd half, it was a 3rd try for Rovers and it was well-worked again as they worked it out wide and Gale dived over in the corner, successful conversion from touchline by Hall.
2nd London try – sloppy Rovers play
Just before the hour, sloppy play by Rovers, Leyland intercepted and scored, Moceidreke successfully converted.
4th Rovers try – lovely offload by Smith
A minute later, a lovely offload by Smith and Pickersgill dummied and got over to score his 2nd try, successful conversion by Hall.
5th Fev try – Hall broke defence
With three minutes remaining, Hall broke through the defence and darted over, successful conversion by Hall.

Not the best performance by Rovers, but it was never going to be after the weather but a win is a win and Rovers remain unbeaten.

Next for Rovers is their 1st game in this seasons Challenge Cup and it’s a Yorkshire derby as they go to Halifax Panthers on Sunday 27th February 2022 with a 3pm kickoff.
