From a new bubble tea cafe next to The Reel Cinema to life-changing community groups and shopping in comfort all under one roof, here’s what you can find inside The Ridings in 2023
Shopping
There are a few shops inside the Ridings including Crafting4Good, Primark, M & S, Morrisons, Card Factory, British Heart Foundation, Boots, Cardzone, F Hinds Jewellers, Poundland, Perfume Shop, shoezone, transform images, Wakefield Trinity store.
Primark is based on the Middle Mall of the Ridings and sell lots of things from clothes to beauty products and lots more beside.
M & S is based on the Middle Mall opposite Poundland and they have two sections and the downstairs section is the Food Hall with ready meals, buns and lots of other products, and then upstairs is the cafe, and men’s clothes, women’s clothes etc.
Morrisons is on the lower mall of The Ridings and sells things that all supermarkets sell like fruit, veg, toilet rolls.
Card Factory is on the lower mall and sell cards for all kinds of occasions: Birthdays, anniversaries, personalised cards, gifts, balloons.
British Heart Foundation is a charity shop and sell donated things, books and all other things.
Boots is a pharmacy shop and sell medicine, tablets, prescriptions and is located on upper mall.
Cardzone is another card shop but this time on the middle mall next to shoezone and sell cards for birthdays, anniversaries.
F Hinds Jewellers are located opposite CoActive Arts on the middle mall ad sell jewellery like engagement ring, watches, clocks.
Poundland is located on middle mall and is a discount store that sells things for £1 such as food and drink, entertainment, stationery, crafts.
Perfume shop is located on middle mall of Ridings and sell perfume for men and women as well as gifts.
Shoezone are also located on Middle Mall next to Cardzone and sell shoes for men, women and children.
Transform Images are located on lower mall of Ridings and are a shop that offer a first class service from start to finish, high quality clothing which is funky, young and great prices.
Wakefield Trinity Store is located on Upper Mall of Ridings and is Wakefield Trinity’s club shop with all Wakefield Trinity items in such as hoodies, shirts, caps, and all sorts of other items.
Leisure
Next to the Reel Cinema, there is a new bubble tea cafe called CHA.
Obviously there’s Reel Cinema next door to it with 5 screens and lots of film choice.
Places to Eat and Drink
There are plenty of places to Eat and Drink in Ridings including Esquires, Fresh Smoothie Bar, grind coffee, grind coffee lounge, Joy’s cafe, M & S Cafe and Rubylou’s.
Esquires is located on Upper Mall of Ridings and offer coffee and food as well.
Fresh Smoothie Bar is located on lower mall and offer smoothies, juices, milkshakes, fruitshakes and freshly ground coffee.
Grind coffee is located on lower mall of Ridings and is a coffee and milkshake bar serving full breakfast and lunch.
Grind coffee lounge Is located on the upper mall.
Joy’s cafe is located on upper mall and is a cosy coffee house offering barista coffee, brekfast, brunch, lunch, delicious treats, afternoon teas.
M & S Cafe is located on upper mall of M arks and Spencer. They offer hot drinks to hearty soups, and breakfast baps.
RubyLou’s are located on middle mall of Ridings just before the stairs to upper mall. They offer hearty meals and drinks too.
Places to Hang Out/Community groups
CoActive Arts are a community group in the Ridings that provide a safe sanctuary and give their members the chance to be creative. They have lots of members, but do welcome new ones however you’ll have to contact them using their website to see if there’s space as both Wednesday and Thursday their main days are quite full. Days are Wednesday 10am-3pm, Thursday 10am-3pm and Friday 10am-2pm or 9:30am-2:30pm.
The Ridings rooftop Mini Allotments is a good place to hang out if you’re interested in gardening, or growing your own food, and there’s advice every Tuesday 10am to 12 noon.
Stride Theatre is another community group based in the Ridings and they offer a more playful session for their members, but they do still do some drama stuff or plan shows or plan parties when it’s nearing the end of a term or special occasions such as Halloween, Christmas etc. In the Ridings they have sessions on Monday

Speak Out Go Out is a self advocacy group based near Poundland and we talk about advocacy matters and things they want to do as a group. They meet on a Wednesday evening from 5-7pm.
Crafting4Good CIC is based in the Ridings and their approach is influenced by positive psychology, art therapy and the 5 ways to wellbeing which are:

They generate income by people giving them unwanted art and craft supplies, donated by artists, businesses and crafters.
