This was Leeds’ 1st game in this season’s Carabao Cup against League 1 opposition in Crewe Alexandra, and it was a sellout again.
Could Leeds get their 1st win of the season or would Crewe cause an upset?

After 2 minutes, Knight had a left footed shot for Crewe from a difficult angle on the left blocked, then a minute later, Mandron’s header from the centre of the box missed to the left.
After 10 minutes, 1st Leeds chance as Forshaw’s right footed shot from centre of the box was saved
13 minutes later, Phillips crossed and Llorente’s header from the centre of the box was blocked, then Harrison’s left footed shot from outside the box was saved in the right corner, then a massive Leeds chance as Phillips somehow missed his header from very close range.
Just before the half hour, Roberts had a right footed shot from outside the box which was high and wide to the left.
On the half hour, Finney had a left footed shot for Crewe from outside the box saved.
Two minutes later, Rodrigo’s right footed shot from the centre of the box blocked. A minute later, Roberts had a right footed shot that was from the centre of the box blocked.
After 42 minutes, 2 more Leeds chances, the 1st one was Firpo’s left footed shot from the left side of the box was close but missed to the left, then Costa’s left footed shot from outside the box went high and wide.
The last chance of the half went to Leeds as Struijk’s header from the centre of the box went high and wide to the left.

So a dominant but frustrating half for Leeds as they created a load of chances, could they find the cutting edge in the 2nd half or were we heading for penalties?
After 46 minutes, Rodrigo’s header from centre of the box missed to the right.
After 52 minutes, Harrison’s left footed shot from the left side of the box missed to the right.
2 minutes later, Roberts had a left footed shot from the left side of the box blocked, then a minute later, Roberts left footed shot from centre of the box missed to the left.
Just before the hour, Harrison had a left footed shot from outside the box which missed to the left.
With 25 minutes left, Phillips’right footed shot outside the box was blocked.
After 68 minutes, Rodrigo’s left footed shot from the left side of the box missed to.
With 15 to go, Ainley had a right footed shot for Crewe outside the box saved.
Three minutes later, Roberts’ right footed shot from outside the box saved.
Then Struijk’s header from centre of the box missed to the left.
1st Leeds goal
With just over 10 minutes remaining, Leeds finally scored as Phillips steered in from a corner a right footed shot from the centre of the box into the bottom right corner.
Then a minute later, Bamford’s left footed shot from left side of the box was saved.
After 83 minutes, 2 Bamford chances as his header from close range was close, but missed to the right, then a right footed shot from right side of the box saved.
2nd Leeds goal
After 85 minutes, Leeds broke quick and Bamford squared to Harrison who had a left footed shot from the centre of the box, which he clipped over keeper into bottom right corner.
3rd Leeds goal
In the 90th minute, it was three for Leeds as Harrison’s right footed shot from centre of the box went into the bottom right corner, and he was assisted by Bamford again.
The last chance went to Leeds 3 minutes into stoppage time as Costa had a right footed shot from a difficult angle on the right which missed to the right.

So a good win eventually for Leeds, perhaps 3-0 was harsh on Crewe but it was Leeds’ first win of the season and they’re into the 3rd round raw which took place on Wednesday night and they will play Fulham away week commencing 20th September.
