Yorkshire drive in cinemas.. Our round-up of the best places to go

What's On

Even though cinemas indoors are still open, you do have the option for going to a drive-in cinema, just in case the indoor ones have to close again.

Here’s a few of the drive-in cinemas I’ve found in and around Yorkshire happening over the next month or so.

The Millennium Stadium, Featherstone (31st July-4th August)

This is situated just down the road from Millennium Support, and the Last Orders Pub. If you need a postcode, it is WF7 5EN.

The Millennium Stadium is home to Featherstone Rovers Rugby League Club, and until Thursday they are showing some good films at their drive in cinema hosted by Blue Sky. I went to see Joker at this one, and it was a bit gruesome. However if you prefer lighter films, they are showing films including: Cinderella on Wednesday 5th August at 2pm, Aladdin on Thursday 6th August at 2pm, and Mamma Mia on Thursday 6th August at 5pm.

Ripon Racecourse (8th August)

This one is at Ripon Racecourse on Saturday 8th August and they are showing films including:  Frozen 2 at 11am , Lion King at 2pm, Greatest Showman at 4:30pm.

Leeds (Harewood House) (4th August- 17th August)

Harewood House is in the middle of Leeds, and they are showing films including: Toy Story 4 on 7th August, Grease Sing-along and others.

Another one in Leeds is the Multi Story Picturehouse, and below are three pictures from that drive-in cinema.

Bradford  (25th September)

I can only see one at Bradford which is Greatest Showman Singalong.

York (15th August onwards)

This one is at the Principal in York and are showing films including: Judy, Grease, E.T, Romeo and Juliet and Dirty Dancing

Wetherby Racecourse (September)

There’s only one I can see for this one and again it’s the Greatest Showman Singalong.

Sheffield (September)

This one is based in Don Valley Sheffield, it’s open Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd August. Here’s the films they’re showing:

22nd August –

Up – 10am

Charlie & The Chocolate Factory – 1pm

Grease – 4pm

BREAK – 7pm & 10pm

23rd August –

Black Beauty – 10am

Dolittle – 1pm

Rocky Horror Picture Show – 4pm

BREAK – 7pm & 10pm
