Brighton and Hove Albion v Leeds United Premier League Saturday 27th November 2021

Everything

This game was intriguing as Brighton had started the season well, but have drawn too many recently, and Leeds have only won twice so far this season, but in recent matches have slowly been getting back to their best.
Brighton kicked off in mid table, Leeds 17th but with a two point buffer over the bottom 3.
It was played at the Amex Stadium.

Five minutes later, Lamptey got past Firpo too easily and Cooper and pulled it back for Maupay who shot over from close range.
After 11 minutes, Brighton broke up a Leeds attack and Maupay had a shot from outside the area, but easy for Meslier to save.
Just before the quarter hour, there was a shout for a Leeds penalty as Trossard kicked out at Raphinha who went down but no pen given.
With twenty minutes gone, moments after a penalty appeal for Brighton, Trossard shot inside the area which hit the post after Meslier got a fingertip to it, but the referee didn’t see it and no corner awarded.

Six minutes later, Leeds freekick just outside the area, Raphinha took it, it deflected and James couldn’t keep it in, then soon after Bissouma shot outside the area was way wide.
Just after the half hour, another Brighton chance and Trossard’s shot was saved by Meslier, then sloppy Leeds play as Moder reacted first and hit outside of the post.

Four minutes later, Lamptey cross again and Maupay missed again.
The last meaningful first half action came after 40 minutes as another Brighton penalty shout as the cross struck Cooper on the arm, but again no penalty given, only a corner which came to nothing.
